Real Life Squid Game Coming In Netflix With $4.56m Prize

Real Life Squid Game: It will, however, not be a matter of life or death, as shown in the South Korean dystopian thriller. 456 participants from all over the world will instead compete in games where “the worst fate is going home empty-handed,” missing out on $4.56 million (£3.8 million) in total prize money.

In addition to Netflix’s announcement this week, the popular show Squid Game has been renewed for a second season. For its upcoming 10-episode reality series titled “Squid Game: The Challenge,” the platform said on Wednesday that it will include a “biggest cast and lump cash reward in reality TV history.” Players will be put to the test in a series of games that are based on the original program, but with a few surprises thrown in, while competitors are removed around them.”

All About Real Life Squid Game

South Korean thriller depicts the story of debt-ridden individuals engaging in a deadly series of children’s games for a significant cash reward. 111 million people viewed it in the first 28 days of its release, making it Netflix’s most popular series ever.

According to a statement released on Monday by the director, writer, and executive producer of Squid Game Hwang Dong-hyuk, “Squid Game’s first season premiered last year after a 12-year wait. However, it only took Squid Game 12 days to become Netflix’s most popular show ever.”

Rival streaming services, as well as Russia’s decision to leave Netflix, have increased competition for the company’s streaming services. It was discovered in April that there had been a dramatic decline in the number of customers and that millions more were on the verge of leaving the streaming service altogether. In the wake of this, the company’s market worth was slashed by more than $50 billion.

Why Recreate The Squid Game in Real Life?

There are others who argue that re-creating fatal games from a program that expressly critiques them as a metaphor for the social imbalance they represent is bad taste. However, it’s worth adding that MrBeast isn’t quite alone in doing this, since the film was developed in partnership with a sponsor. MrBeast and fellow YouTube star Mark Rober developed the #TeamSeas marine cleanup crowdsourcing effort, which aims to raise $30 million to clean the oceans (via Variety).

This is in keeping with some of his other philanthropy-themed efforts, which include prior cooperation with Rober dubbed #TeamTrees, and a recent team-up with Jennie-O Turkey Store in order to give out 10,000 turkeys to families in need (via PR Newswire) (per PR Newswire). For all of MrBeast’s money, some people have pointed out that he has completely missed what the show was all about by spending $3.5 million on a single project. “My dude really just missed the point of ‘rich people would utilize the poor for entertainment and did it huh,” @ZACKK1NN1E tweeted regarding the YouTuber’s “Squid Game” venture. @jeonghives agreed, saying, “Someone missed the point.”

It’s not the first time that a real-life counterpart of the show’s games has been conceived. Earlier this year, the Korean Cultural Center in the United Arab Emirates constructed a safe real-life replica of “Real Life Squid Game” for 30 fortunate fans of the program.
