Thor Love and Thunder Review
Thor Love and Thunder Movie Review: You’ll be glad to learn that Thor: Love and Thunder is a lot of fun if you were hoping to have a nice time while watching it. Nothing less would be expected from Taika Waititi’s creative mind, and the filmmaker has succeeded in creating a new, vibrant adventure for the MCU’s beloved Space Viking that is very much in keeping with the mood he established in Thor: Ragnarok.
With some jaw-dropping images and a gorgeous colour scheme that really brings the comic book movie to life, Love and Thunder is undoubtedly a sight for the ages. In every manner that its predecessor was loud and obnoxious, this one enjoys being loud and noisy.
The connection between Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster and Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, though, is where this one truly shines. Although there has always been a strong connection between the two, it hasn’t always worked in their favour. But here, they stand out, giving the famous Marvel Comics pair the attention they had long since earned.
Speaking of Jane, Natalie Portman is excellent in her comeback performance. While without losing the spirit of the role, she recaptures the magic spark that made Jane such a vivid character in the original Thor movie and enhances it just a touch to fit the oddball nature of Waititi’s picture. She also steals the show as the Mighty Thor, and I’ll even go so far as to say that she’s the best part of the movie.
The portrayal of Christian Bale, another standout, transforms Gorr the God Butcher, a character we don’t actually spend that much time with, into one of the most dreadful antagonists the MCU has yet seen. He is wonderfully nasty, and he knows it, which gives Gorr a personality that I’m not sure the screenplay alone could have given him.
Despite Bale’s best efforts to the contrary, there are certain problems, such as abrupt mood swings that prevent every joke from landing, and it regrettably fails to make the most of its antagonist. But overall, it’s hilarious.
Thor: Love and Thunder is among the most delightful of the Thor films, which are all about their sense of adventure. Despite not being a flawless film, it excels several times during its brief 119-minute running time, offering some of the most fun scenes of Phase Four and the MCU as a whole. Portman and Bale also give outstanding performances to complete the picture. Thor Love and Thunder OTT Release Date?
